Kara Lassen Oliver

A contemplative at heart and a writer, Kara has over 15 years of leadership experience in spiritual formation, hospitality, and organizational growth. As a United Methodist lay person, she has served as a youth pastor, a Volunteer in Mission for two years in Malawi, and for over ten years in publishing, including serving on staff at The Upper Room. Kara currently serves as the Executive Director at St. Mary's Sewanee: The Ayres Center for Spiritual Development, where she continues to provide space and opportunity for spiritual formation.

Kara es escritora y una persona de espíritu contemplativo, cuenta con más de 15 años de experiencia en posiciones de liderazgo en las áreas de formación espiritual, hospitalidad y crecimiento organizativo. Como persona laica de la Iglesia Metodista Unida, ha ejercido el ministerio como pastora de jóvenes, ha sido voluntaria en misión durante dos años en Malaui y ha trabajado durante más de diez años en el sector editorial, entre otros cargos, como miembro del equipo de «The Upper Room». En la actualidad, Kara ocupa el cargo de directora ejecutiva en St. Mary’s Sewanee: The Ayres Center for Spiritual Development, donde sigue ofreciendo espacios y oportunidades para la formación espiritual.
